How to Install Firefox 4 in Ubuntu (Maverick & Lucid).

Firefox 4 for Linux is available for download now. Mozilla has released Firefox 4 with improved performance and advanced security promising an intuitive experience. They have revamped the UI including Awesome bar, Firefox button, Bookmark button along with Tab organiser and panorama view. Check out the complete features here.
Firefox 4 Features
As usual Ubuntu users running Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) and Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) can install Firefox 4 RC via Terminal or Software center GUI. If you are not sure about how to access terminal or don’t want to mess things download Firefox 4 tar.bz file and click to install. Download Firefox 4 tar file from here to install it offline.

Install Firefox 4 via Terminal :

Go to Applications > Terminal and enter the following commands carefully,
  1. sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
  2. sudo apt-get update
  3. sudo apt-get install firefox

Install Firefox 4 via GUI Software Center :

Launch Ubuntu Software Center. Head over to Edit > Software Sources and click the ‘Other Software’ tab. Press ‘Add’ and then add the PPA ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable.
